Jenny Herzog presents: Get Out of Your Head! As a singer and tap dancer, I believe our bodies are both rhythmic and melodic instruments. Our bodies help us to access the moment, be more present with those around us, improvise, and, dare I say, enjoy. Rather than intellectualizing, analyzing, or conceptualizing music to the extreme, I invite you to use your body to get out of your own way. As a group, we'll create complex polyrhythms, melodic ideas, harmonies, compositions and choreography. We'll scat, sing, tap, move, and play with body percussion. No external instruments necessary. Let's see how much trouble we can get into just using our bodies and voices. Let's have fun--and not treat fun as the antithesis to meaning. www.jennyherzog.com
